Diagramo.

Found this online web based diagramming software for a server called Diagramo. They actually have three versions. A tryout version, MSWindows, and a lamp server version. We downloaded the tryout version and the lamp version. The light version is great for training, but does not allow for the saving or loading of files. Now to install the lamp server version.

 

Could not get the lamp version to work. Was welcomed with just a blank screen. After a web search, went to the git repository for the latest version. It worked, but would not let you log in. Tooled around to the setup page for setting the login and ran it. Then things worked. You should not have to do that to set up software. They do have a nice basic how to use the program with a default diagram. Was able finally to be able to use the program. Will be interesting to see how to use the web page to a tablet.

You actually can do a minimal windowing from the command line in Linux with dvtm. Dvtm is excellent for low end machines where graphics are not a priority. Web.com and Network Solutions, the Walmart of the internet.

Web.com bought Network Solutions last month, and also has bought Register.com . Web.com picked up Network Solutions for $405M plus some stock. I have been using an e-commerce package form Network Solution for two years. I wouldn’t have noticed the buy out as the Network Solutions site has not changed. A couple of weeks ago I noticed that Network Solutions was offering some new products such as Gorilla Online Marketing . Soon after that we received a sales call about Gorilla Online Marketing from Network Solutions. When I returned the call the phone was answered by Register.com, I was confused at first but quickly found out about the buy outs. They seem like a good fit, they all target the same types of small to medium size businesses. Network Solution has always had great customer support in my opinion.
