Antenna redo.

Made an antenna guessing at the specs. Also did it do see how critical the angle of the dipoles were. Antenna pattern: http://web.archive.org/web/20130610164242/http://tradewhen.com/Log-Periodic-Pattern.pdf Original version: The antenna did not work that well. So I went back and looked at the original picture and noticed the angle was quite different. Oops, the original angle used was a bit wide. Hmm. S/B: Now, the new version with the corrected angle. Now to test it. Tested average.... Other antennas to look at:  http://www.instructables.com/id/Antennas-TV-Wifi-and-etc/ A bit about antennas:

Yet another TV antenna.

Playing with OTA tv antennas again.. Took an aluminium plate and cut it to roughly the dimensions of the $49 commercial antenna. If I had not been in a hurry, the antenna would have looked nicer. Without resetting the channels on the receiver still was able to access over 80 tv stations. Not bad for a $3 investment. Update: Another antenna comparison. No CBS affiliate either.  Amazon wanted $99. Again only a $3  investment for me. Parabolic antenna and a yagi antenna.

Yet another OTA HDTV antenna.

Revision3 was touting this one antenna that sells for thirty five dollars. Seems like a pretty uncomplicated design. Went to the site to see if they had the specifications. In some ways it was like antennas I have already made, That antenna tech has prior art so to speak for sure. Looking at the picture, I thought I could create something like it fairly easily. In about an hour a recreation was made. Anything but professional looking. Worked well, but not as good as what I have already made. It would not get the station with "The Big Bang Theory". So that was an immediate fail. In any case I have another antenna plan that can be easily implemented if I need to build an antenna on the fly. Finally testing some over the air foil based antennas Also wanted to test the composite output of an old computer I have made. Next antenna, I think is a gray-Hoverman antenna. I tried to follow the specs the best I could. The last antenna I tested was a fractal based antenna. it was definitely directional.

Ehow DTV antenna revisited.

We decided to do an indoor version of the Ehow outdoor DTV antenna. For more details see: http://www.instructables.com/id/Ehow-outdoor-and-indoor-DTV-antennas/

Super antenna cheap.

One of my side hobbies is to make foil based equivalents of traditional antennas. This is my latest prototype of the Gray-Hoverman antenna. Just $5 dollars in materials. It is also almost light as a feather. My next goal is to step it up a bit with commercial antenna clone. Probably do this one with coat hangers. Looking for the specs.
