Tuxpaint can be good for drawing pictures, cartoons, and the like, but if we let it stretch it's muscles there is more that can be done. Maybe use it as a sort of drafting program. A drawing usually has at least four views. They are the front, side, top, and isometric (roughly translated at an angle).  If you needed a simple step stool, you certainly can make a drawing to reflect that. In this case you only have a partial isometric, but the point gets across. Maybe you could do a floor plan: A 3d object in 2d. Then all the rest.... Circuit design. Have fun.

Html5 is at this time the future of the web especially in terms of graphics. If you do a web search on html5+canvas, you will fine a boatload of information and usable snippets. Simple drawing programs can actually do many tasks in terms of art. For most diagrams, can be done without the fancy expensive software. One free program I like to use is Tuxpaint. (import exiting pictures with usage $ tuxpaint-import filename.ext  $ tuxpaint-import neatpic.png There are many others depending on the computer platform you use. Of course you can do simple artwork. You can even make prototype drawings like was done in drafting class such as a boat or even a cabinet.  Actually built both of the units. You can even do simple electronics diagrams such as a connection for an adapter or say a connection of parts to an Arduino for a TV.out adapter. Then you could use the drawing program to describe simple or even more complex processes such as making beer. Last but not least, you could draw an interpretation of a local area network.
